Zinc supports immune function, recovery and wound healing; maintains healthy skin, and supports reproductive health and fertility. Severe zinc deficiency is rare, but marginal deficiencies are more common resulting from poor diet, depletion by medications and low levels of zinc in New Zealand soils.
